Ingredients
Maida : 2 cups
Channa dhal : 1 cup
Thuvar dhal : 4 tsp
Jaggery : 3/4 cup
Ghee : 10 tbsp
Cooking oil : 1/4 cup
Turmeric powder : A pinch
Salt : A pinch
Cardamom powder : 2 tbsp
How to Prepare:
Knead maida with cooking oil, and turmeric powder into nice dough. Make small balls and keep them aside for 2- 2 ½ hours.
Add a pinch of salt to the channa dhal and thuvar dhal and pressure cook them.
Melt jaggery in a pan, and add the cooked dhal mixture to this. Add the cardamom powder and mix it well. Let it cool. Make small balls and keep them aside.
Take a maida ball and using a rolling pin, roll it out into a thin round patty.
Now place a dhal mixture ball and place it in the maida patty and roll it out again. The patty is called poli.
Heat the pan over a low/medium flame and add 2 tbsp of ghee and put the poli in it. When the colour changes, flip it over allowing it to get cooked thoroughly.
Apply a tsp of ghee, on the poli and serve.
